Georgia WIC services are provided in health departments, community health centers, hospitals, military bases, and the Division of Family and Children Services (DFACS) offices. Georgia WIC serves to safeguard the health of low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating, including breastfeeding promotion and support, and referrals to health care. The Georgia Department of Public Health administers the program with federal funding provided by the Food and Nutrition Service of the U.S. Georgia WIC is the nation's fifth-largest Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children.
